What is Southview?
The Southview Planned Unit Development (PUD) is the brain child of Don Davidson, the owner of Davidson Industries. He purchased the land in 1974, but had visions of the real value of the land as far back as 1960. Had it not been for Don's extraordinary vision and his 'good neighbor' style, none of us would be calling this wonderful place home today.
Southview consists of approximately 66 acres of land and, originally, 33 lots were platted. We are a gated community. Our water system consists of a 69,000 gallon holding tank at the top of your hill, filled from our well to the south. This provides crystal clear water to both the individual homes in our neighborhood as well as water for our fire hydrants and standpipes. Each home provides its own septic system and leach field.
We are governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, elected by the owners to three-year terms. We have our own system of street lights, and maintain Southview Lane and our landscaping from our annual dues, currently $1,000 per year, per lot.
